Onboarding

After creating your account and verifying your email, M2tric walks you through a two-step onboarding process: setting up your company and choosing a subscription plan.

Step 1: Set up your company

On the setup screen you provide two pieces of information that define your organization in M2tric.

Company name

Enter the full name of your business. This is how your organization will appear throughout M2tric — on the dashboard, in reports, and to any team members you invite later.

Company code (job ID prefix)

The company code is a short, uppercase identifier that becomes the prefix for every job number your organization creates. For example, if your company code is PFC, your jobs will be numbered PFC-2025-0001, PFC-2025-0002, and so on.

  • M2tric auto-generates a code from your company name, but you can edit it to whatever you prefer.
  • Only uppercase letters and numbers are allowed, with a maximum length of 10 characters.
  • The code must be at least 2 characters long.
  • Each code must be unique across M2tric. If the code you want is already taken, try a variation.

Choose a code that is easy to recognize at a glance — most companies use their initials or a short abbreviation of their name. You can change your company code later from your organization settings.

Once you fill in both fields, click Continue to billing to move to the next step.

Step 2: Choose a plan

M2tric offers four subscription plans — from Solo ($39/month) to Unlimited ($299/month) — designed to fit businesses of different sizes. See Subscription Plans for a full comparison of what’s included in each plan.

14-day free trial

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. When you select a plan, you’ll be redirected to a secure Stripe checkout page to enter your payment details. Your card will not be charged until the trial period ends, and you can cancel anytime before then.

After checkout

Once checkout is complete, you’ll be taken straight to your M2tric dashboard. From there you can start creating jobs, adding clients, and inviting team members right away.

Who can set up billing?

Only users with the Owner or Admin role can choose a plan and complete the billing setup (see User Roles & Permissions). If you were invited to an organization and land on the billing page, you’ll see a message asking you to wait for your administrator to finish the setup.

Troubleshooting

  • “This company code is already taken” — another organization is using this code. Try a different abbreviation or add a number to make it unique.
  • Checkout was canceled — if you closed the Stripe checkout page without completing payment, you’ll be returned to the billing step. Simply select a plan again to restart.
  • Stuck on the billing page — if the plans aren’t loading, try refreshing the page. If the problem persists, contact support.
  • Redirected back to setup — this means your organization hasn’t been created yet. Fill in your company name and code, then continue to billing.
